What is the additive in minnow tanks that turns the water blue?
I’m trying to keep some expensive bait alive until next weekend. So far so good. I have an aerator in the water, but its getting pretty nasty. Any advise will be great.
Either Methylene Blue or Malachite Green. Both are used to keep diseases at bay. You can pick it up at your local aquarium store and use half the dose listed on the bottle for prophylactic purposes.
But, you would be better off investing in a bottle of dechlorinator and changing the water daily (using the de-chlor, of course) to keep the bait alive longer.
