This is a green dot question, but it’s NOT what you think…?
And no, it’s not a bait question either!!!!!!!!!
It’s simple, really. Is having the dot on the helmet REALLY necessary? Everyone knows that the QB and one player on D has the communication devices in their helmet, and it’s been that way for several seasons now.
I don’t see why they have to make this a point of emphasis when everyone knows what the deal is anyway. That, plus the fact of them looking a bit ugly on the colour schemes of some of the helmets.
What do you think? Should they be on the helmets at all, or not?

The reason why they have it, is so they know there is only one communication helmet on the field.
Back when Vick used to play, he would line up as a RB while Schaub will line up as a QB, this caused a problem because how would they know that both of them didn’t have a communication helmet at the same time?
So the rule is one communication helmet per offense is allowed on the field, the way they would control this, is by marking the communication helmet with a green dot.
Now the question is, why green?
