I triggered a yellow Gatso while driving towards it, on an urban A road – what is the current NIP law?
I have read most posts on which agree that GATSO evidence can only (in law) be used if you pass one at speed, is this still the case in 2010. As far as I can tell it wasn’t a truvelo and seems to be the same yellow camera that’s been there for years, there are markings on both sides of the road however. I will be waiting with baited breath for 14 days. Any up to date advice?
Having driven the same road today, there are no markings on my side of the road as it is a 4 lane artery road – I presume nothing to calibrate against. Thanks for the (mostly eh bannuckburn) useful responses. I will watch the mail with interest
If it was a GATSO and not a TRUVELO, then, the question is – did it flash twice ? ( twice, in rapid succession ). It has to flash twice to capture the photo of your vehicle. Even so, only a third of GATSOS’ have film in them at any one time. Also, Ive set off a GATSO as I’ve approached it, on 2 occasions in the past 5 years, I did not receive an N.I.P. It’s the TRUVELOS you need to be worried about ! They’re evil ! I doubt you have anything to worry about.
