Bass Pickerel
If small Bass can Survive in my River can larger ones Coexist with them???
in case you don’t know my river is a weedy, algae infested river and usually just inhabits pickerel and catfish. I have stocked the river with over 40 bass and they have nested eggs and I see small bass swimming around my dock. I throw wheelbarrows of sand around the dock and it looks nice. most of the other areas are weeds and layers of mud and broken down leaves. can bass live in low oxygen leveled water??? I am aerating the water with pumps and hopefully can get my section to coexist many species of fish. any help I appreciate thanks!
there is no balance in my river pickerel and catfish that is it…im trying to spread the wealth
I know of no reason why they couldn’t co-exist.The 3 elements for the survival of a Bass is
food
oxygen
cover
If the oxygen gets low they tend to get disoriented & lethargic & will either drop lower where there’s more oxygen or go to any plants which is a constant source of oxygen.
