Bearings Daiwa
Should i return the 7′ Penn Captiva spinning combo i have and get the 6′6″ Daiwa Procaster spinning combo?
I heard they call it the “Craptiva” and that it is not a good reel and rod. People tell me to get the Daiwa Procaster spinning combo that is the same price as the Penn. im targeting bass, snook, and maybe even some small tarpon. also, the daiwa procaster reel has 11 bearings compared to the 8 bearing captiva.
The Captiva certainly has mixed reviews. (I’ve never owned one, but I have read bad reviews about it..)
When buying a reel (or any tackle for that matter) your best course of action is to read as many reviews about it as possible.
Go to Bass Pro Shops & Cabelas and check out ANY reel you are thinking about buying…….Both those company’s have a decent review section that is written by the consumer.
Here’s an idea: Why not save a little more money and buy something good??
Both those combo’s aren’t worth purchasing, (and could only handle 6-8 Baby Tarpon or medium-sized Jacks before they went ka-put!!)
For $50 MORE you could have something decent……..Why buy crap NOW when you can save a week and have something good LATER?

See! For $85-$90 you could have something that will LAST longer than a Season………save another $100 and (if you take care of the outfit) have something that could last a LIFETIME.
