begging for morsels to share
garbage can fire where villains conspire
delivering dangerous dreams
shotguns for hire who never will tire
of living on triple card schemes
tired old lady on sidewalks so shady
waiting for john to arrive
drunken denial and kiss from the vial
smearing her soul to survive
back alley bunkers and burnt out old clunkers
litter on streets paved with gold
children of users and violent abusers
cast into uncaring cold
fat tycoons wield silver spoons
padding the locks on their doors
while homeless vets have nightmare sweats
still fight forgotten wars
sleeping sound on frozen ground
whiskey warms the bone
but consider too that it could be you
before casting the first stone
