Do seasons push limits? Are hunches trustworthy?
Hunch
I’m just talking about bliss’s frailty,
about the iridescent spider web thread that lures,
and weaves light stitch at a time in the shadows.
Edge, it entices darkness as swiftly as lightning.
I’m just talking about the voice.
Drop after drop, it sprinkles into sweat
to burst into dew.
Its scent roots you to a mirror;
then, like a comb it clings to your head…
Strand after strand, in time, it eases the spite
of the idle flight,
the graceless rhetoric
of any other day.
I’m just talking about the hands that omen ripen into petals.
Distant ethereal butterflies,
they spin into Spring’s jazzy
faraway curb.
Limit, Summer speaking.
I quite liked this. The repeated phrase “I’m just talking about” though, lessened its strength for me. Try reading it without that and see what you think.
