When is the best time to catch big crappies and what is the best bait? Wheres the best place to find them in a pond
Crappie love minnows, and that’s the most universally used, and proved bait ever. Yea, you can catch them on wax-worms, and earthworms, but are more likely to catch a boat load with plain-old minnows.
And for the spots to catch them, i would try around brush. Some ponds/lakes have Christmas trees planted into the ground for protection and cover, and these are great for crappie. These trees have helped the bass & crappie populations in my lake tremendously in the last few years.
