why does my cat curl up her tail when she walks?
When my 2 year old cat walks her tail is curled up tight like a cinnamon roll. when she is lying down or sitting in the window her tail is straight. Is this normal? Can it be genetic?

Cats have various ways of showing what they are feeling with the use of their tail. What you are describing is what I said. She’s relaxed, self-assured and happy. When she is lying down or relaxing by the window the tail will drop into it’s relax “mode”. She’s just chilling and enjoying the few show outside.
She is fine. If it’s genetic then all cats have it! Enjoy your cat.
