czech nymphing need some info plz?
hi just wondering i do a lot of fly fishing on my little brook i usually do the upstream nymph how ever just wanting to try some thing different, but the water has an average depth of around 2-3ft and what particular patterns of flies to use
i was wondering what you think on if it would be effective or not
Czech nymphing would be an effective method. Especially if your river bed is rocky and you have a high proportion of crustaceans. I could go on all day attempting to explain how to Czech nymph as its different from the usual slow nymph technique. I would suggest starting with flies with a specific red or orange spot in the center, wild browns love this color combination.
As ive already said every brook,river etc differs in the way that it fishes, so ask for local advice, it maybe an effective method in your area. You really need to learn from someone how to do this as me attempting to explain it via a computer wont be very clear.
