How many more fish in my 30 gallon tank? Curious? 10 points~!!!?
I have a breeding 30 gallon fish tank with:
4 fancy guppy
4 Balloon mollies a.k.a. dwarf mollies… not the 6 inch ones. lol
8 platy (will remove 4 soon)
All of these are in a 1:3 gender ratio. I have extra tanks to keep the baby fry in until i either sell/trade/give them away.
I was wondering maybe a half dozen neon tetra?
Some glo-fish (NOT GOLDFISH) zebra danio. (5-6)
and maybe some corydora (the dwarf albino kind)
If so, how many?
Again: 16 fish in total… will soon be 12…
Tank is established running for 3-4 months now.

The fish you listed to maybe get like a lowish ph while the ones you have like a highish ph. If your ph is about 7 this isn’t too big a deal but neons still wouldn’t do so well.
I don’t think the zebra danios would be a good idea. They are too fast for the other fish and any time I’ve ever had them they’ve nipped the fins of other fish, even each other’s. They would really mess up the guppies and likely stress them to death.
The cory-cats normally leave everyone else alone and if the ph is around 7 like I said then they’d do well even though they like the lower ph because they are a bit tougher than neons.
Perhaps get three or so corydoras. Or three or so swordtails, they would get along well with what you have now. Both of these can get large compaired to guppies though so I would sick with one or the other.
And you’re right, the one inch of fish per gallon rule is crap. I once heard one inch of fish Cubed per gallon was better (1 inch cubed is 1 gallon, 2 inch cubed = 8 gallons), and it is…. but I wouldn’t say that it was a good rule to follow either. There are always other factors.
