how do you remove plastic fan blade off of motor shaft on a kenmore dryer??
To remove the motor, I will assume you have already removed the front cabinetry and the drum. The fan is screwed on to the motor shaft and is a “left hand” thread. Get a large crescent wrench and adjust it to fit snugly on the square shaft of the fan (you can access the square shaft from the motor side). Place a set of vice grips on the motor shaft. Turn the crescent wrench counter clockwise to the motor shaft while holding the motor shaft firm. Once the fan has “broken loose” from the motor shaft, you should be able to spin it off. Take off the hold down clamps on the motor and lift the motor out of the cradle. Unplug the wiring harness to the motor and remove. When replacing the motor, stick the motor shaft into the fan and spin the motor shaft counter clockwise to tighten the fan on to the motor. Hope this helps….
