good lures/flies for chain pickeral?
thanks for the Compliment Brandon I appreciate that. well Pickerel love small 1/16 oz spinner baits in white and yellow (my favorite colors) they also hit on plastic worms (3-6 inches) but fish them fast as they are incredibly aggressive fish. Pickerel also destroy rapalas (perch colored is my personal favorite) and minnow soft plastics (4inches). I’d go with the small spinner bait first and whip that thing out there. then I’d switch to the rapala and then the minnow imitation. Pickerel prefer colder water temperature and are best caught in the Spring and Fall. try fishing at night using topwater poppers or when there is a little bit of sunlight still out before darkness. I caught this badboy on a topwater popper at like 8:15 one night…he was a little under 4lbs and measured 23 inches. if you need any more detail about the pickerel send me an email I’ll be happy to help you out.
