How do I get rid of blanket weed in aquarium?
I have an aquarium that is 8 months old, it has,1 siamese fighter, 2 neon tetra, 2 white mountine minnows, 1 algae eater and 1 honey gourami.
The tank holds 30L of water and I have what i think is blanket weed which looks like green wool floating around. How do I get rid of it?
To start, your tank is way overstocked. It is only large enough for the Betta. The neon tetra’s need to be kept in a larger group as well as the minnows. The gourami and the algae eater need more space. The algae eater, depending on exactly what it is, will get quite large.
Anyway, it sounds like the problem is that you have an algae bloom. This would be caused from too much lighting, and poor water quality. First step would be to either get a much larger tank. 60 gallons would do this group nicely.-
