Gold Fish
What is wrong with my gold fish? his eyes are pretruding and his scales are sticking out, what is wrong?
I keep him in a tank with 5 other gold fish and his condition is getting worse. None of the other fish look ill.
That sounds most likely to be Dropsy. This bacterial infection can be accompanied by fish Pop-eye. The scale raising is called a Pine-cone effect that this infection has on the fish.
Best thing to do is to transfer your sick goldie into a hospital/quarantine tank. If you don’t have one, you will need to treat the whole tank for this with anti fungal and anti bacterial medication combined. Make sure to keep the water as clean as possible with double time on water changes (25%).
A medication I know for treating this is Fungi cure Tank buddies by Jungle labs. I’m not familiar with other brands.
