Before you get any crazy ideas in your head about retiring in Thailand you should know the truth behind the matter – things are not always as they seem, and sometimes even the truth is stranger than fiction.

You see, the thing about Thailand is that it’s a pretty relaxed and laid back lifestyle to fall (or retire) into. And this is part of the problem. You can literally go for days doing very little – and still have heaps of fun while doing so. In fact, you’ll often find you don’t even know what day it is – and that it doesn’t really matter either!

But that’s not all. Thailand’s warm, barmy and tropical friendly weather ruins all your fun. You are forced – if not compelled – to wear the briefest of clothing to compensate for the weather – usually shorts and singlet (or t-shirt) and that’s pushing it. And of course the ocean beckons you to dive into its depths of sparkling hues too, but that’s another story.

As if the weather, laid back lifestyle and friendly Thai culture wasn’t enough, you can also throw the incredible low cost of living into the mix and give it a good stir too. Living or retiring in Thailand won’t put too much of a dint in your lifestyle budget at all. Yep, the cost of living in Thailand sure beats the living daylights out of a lot of other countries – plus you still get all the benefits of home too (or most anyway!)

Anyway, I told you not to get any funny ideas about retiring to Thailand didn’t I? After all, you might forget that you ever retired. But if that’s your goal, then Thailand sure is the right place to do it!
