Hemostats Fishing

Using live worms for trout fishing involves more than simply tying on a hook, threading a worm onto said hook, and calling it good, were you aware of this? It involves more than this if you have an interest in being a true trout angler that is. True trout anglers understand this fact and after reading this quick article you will as well. In my humble opinion, using live worms for trout fishing (when done properly) is as much of an “art form” as any other form of trout fishing has ever been proclaimed to be.
In this article I’m going to discuss some of the things that can make using live worms for trout fishing to the next level. These tips and techniques work well for other species of fish as well, such as smallmouth bass. One of the best situations for using live worms as bait is in the flowing waters of either rivers or streams. Rivers and streams are where these tips and techniques really proven their worth, although they can be easily modified for other types of fishing, such as still fishing for trout with synthetic bait.
The first thing to be aware of is that the best way to present live worms as bait is through the use of gang hooks. Gang hooks are simply a pair of small hooks tied in tandem, which enable live worms to be presented in an outstretched and natural manner, the what God intended. This makes a huge difference in catch rates. You want you your live worms to look like a live worm, right? Rather than some sort of piece of meat. Gang hooks allow this to happen, and the results are quite dramatic. Whenever you employ live worms for trout fishing, gang hooks should be the way in which you rig said worms.
The next thing to keep in mind is the times in which you go fishing. Being on the water at the most opportune times is of the utmost importance to the serious trout angler. The most opportune times can be determined by knowing the ways in which the weather and moon impact fishing. The weather and moon have as much to do with you catching trout as any single factor, even the type of bait or lure that you choose to employ. The bottom line is that the serious trout angler needs to know the ways in which the weather and moon impact the behavior of trout
The last thing to consider when using live worms for trout fishing is the fact that you need to be as efficient as possible. This means employing equipment such as bait bags and retractors. These items are true time savers and will make you a much more efficient and effective trout angler. A bait bag is simply a small pouch that hangs from your fishing vest, belt, or shirt and carries your live worms when you’re fishing. This way your bait is always at your fingertips waiting to be used. This saves a TON of time baiting up and re-baiting. Retractors are small devices that hold your most used lightweight equipment, such as nail clippers or hemostats. This way these items are hanging from your fishing vest within easy reach whenever they’re needed.
Begin using on or all of these tips sooner, rather than later and you begin catching more trout when using live worms as bait, it’s as simple as that. Every one of these tips have been proven through more than forty five years of combined fishing experience.
