question about striper fishing?
i found this spot while fishing a few days ago that is loaded with some nice striper. im talking like 20-30 inches in size. and its the ideal area where a striper would hang out. lots of rocks, good current, and under a bridge so there is plenty of structure. Today a school of bunker came in and the stripers went nuts. this area is hard to reach so not many people fish there. so my question is what lures or techniques should i use. because the current can be so strong at times it will just carry my lure away. but if i use bait it gets snagged in the rocks on the bottom. i have caught a few nice stripers using a rubber shad with a jig head but that gets snagged often to. so any suggestions on a lure that will drive the stripers crazy, yet work in an area with heavy currents and rocky botoms?
Stick with the plastic soft baits that match the bunker and try it without the jig head, with a plain hook.
