SACRAMENTO DELTA BASS FISHING!?!?!?!?
I am going to the delta in two weeks for bass
on the sacramento side is that the east side,west side,or north side.
what kind of bass are down there
what is good bait this time of the year for bass
do they go after jitterbugs,senkos, spinnerbait or wat
and why is salmon illegal to catch down there.

Anyway, since you won’t listen to sound reasoning when I tell you to steer clear the delta, I will just let you go out there and get your gear ripped off so you can figure it out for yourself.
In the delta, there are black bass and there are striped bass. For both types of bass, you need completely different rigs. For the striped bass, you need to set up a surf rig with about a 12-15 pound mono or something heavier in braid. Baits for these fish that work well for me are pile worms, anchovy, and mackerel.
Black bass will bite on live crawdads floated under a bobber about 3-5 feet deep and near cover. For the black bass, I would go with a 30 pound braid because just like largemouth, these river bass will fight you like crazy.
Your litte jitterbug may work on a lake, but it won’t work out here. The bass out here are looking for something big. I use wildeye trout at about 6 inches to catch them. Senkos, large ones, drop shotted, MAY work but I have never seen it used out here. Spinnerbaits and crank baits near cover like docks and bridges should work, but only if you know how to use them.
Now, like I said before to you, if I were in your shoes and just started fishing, I would steer clear the delta. I would practice in Folsom lake like you have been, catch a couple small fish to get a feel for it, then try to hit the delta.
