Lines in yard after laying bermuda sod, is this bad?
We are getting ready to have a landscaping co. Lay bermuda sod down @ our new home and have noticed several yards in the neighborhood where the lines between the sod patches are very visible. I realize grass will eventually grow there, but wondered if this was an indication of poor work??
A well done job does not have big gaps between the rows of sod. The sod should be butted up tight and pieces staggered so that are a minimum of continuous solid lines(as least when looking from one direction). It is also necessary that the sod be taken care of properly by the homeowner, and that means keeping it watered until established. If it is allowed to dry out, you could have edges dieing. Any outside exposed edges of the sod should have soil bermed up against them to prevent drying out too. If you have sod done, never accept visable gaps..that is fast, sloppy work…
