good baitcasting reels?
what are some good baitcasting reels i can find at walmart for cheap… the most i will pay is if i have to 75 dollars…wats the difrence between the ones that look like a barrel and the fancy lookin ones….ive been a long time fisherman but i never used baitcasting b4 so yea…ill be usin this for bass and whats a very good pundage of line for bass with this setup…i have a g loomis baitcastin rod redy to go 4 da first time in 8 yrs…its my dads rod but we never used it
Depending on where you are, the Wal-mart may not have any good reels even if you spend $75 there. If there is an Academy or Bass Pro, and you are willing to spend $75 on just a reel, then that is the places to go. Abu Garcia and Shimano are good reels. The barrel looking reels I’m guessing are opened face reels. They are very goo for casting but take some practice. The spinning reels I like better cause they cast far and accurate but bird-nest less often. A spinning reel will have a half circle over the spool to hold the line in place. To cast, just pull back the half circle, hold the line with your finger then cast and let the line go. The opened face reel is much like a traditional. Click the button, put your thumb on the barrel, cast, and before it hits the water put your thumb back on the barrel. Good luck and save a few fish for the rest of us.
By the way 10-15 lb test is perfect for bass just play with your drag. I would start with it set too loose and work my way tighter just to be safe.
