What is humane way to kill lots of Japanese Beetles?
This is the first year we have set out Japanese Beetle traps. These traps attract Japanese Beetles through use of a scent lure and eventually the Beetles may fall into a plastic bag and they can’t get out.
Which leads to a slow death of starvation. Looking for something more humane. I’ve heard of putting dish washing detergent in water and then pouring them in that. But drowning isn’t very humane either.

“Humane killing” is sort of an oxymoron. If they are a pest, you should not be concerned with their well being. Most don’t think about being kind to cockroaches and black widows when killing them.
If the beetles don’t bother you, don’t kill them. If they do bother you, then only kill as much as you need to so they don’t bother you anymore. That is the most humane you can be.
