The flies are drowned in ethanol and processed for the crude extract. Do not worry. This has nothing to do with the silly hadith claim that if a fly falls in any vessel on one of its wings is a disease and on the other is healing! I guess it was up to the ancient Muslim seer to figure out which wing was the magical curative one!
We are talking about science here and not superstition. And if flies contain natural antibiotic resistance, it is of no value to humans unless those properties are synthesized. Since your prophet had no knowledge of that, the hadith saying was useless. It just claimed, falsely, that one wing of a fly when falling into a vessel had disease, and the other wing carried healing. THAT was just superstitious speculation.
