Max Baitcast
Need some suggestions for a fishing rod?
I bought a new reel today (shakespeare baitcast reel SKP2000) and im having difficulty finding a decent rod for it.. Does anyone have any suggestions to what type of rod to get for this reel? (reel has max line capacity of 20lb)
Id very much prefer it to be under $30 and a 2 pc rod.
I plan on fishing lakes mostly, and probably will only put 15lb line on. Should the rod still be 20lb rated? Would you recommend the rod with a finger hold or a straight rod?
For your price range you can get a Zebco 404 at almost any outdoor store such as Gander Mountain, Bass Pro Shops, Sports Authority, Dicks Sporting Goods, and sometimes even at Walmart. The kit comes with a Zebco 404 reel, a nice Zebco rod, and a small tackle box with hooks, bobbers, and lures for around $20. It comes spooled with 12 pound test line which is fine because as long as the drag is set on its strongest it can catch a fish double its test line capacity. The Zebco 404 has a finger hold which i would recommend because it gives your finger more comfort and stability while catching a large fish.
