Nib Lot
Anyone have experience with the Rockford Fosgate Type RF X series amps? from 2003 I think, X3.A, X2.A?
Hello, just found a perfect, nearly NIB pair of Rockford Type RF amps, with the Digital DSP, just wanted to know if anyone has experience with them… I have searched everywhere, even Rockford’s site, but can’t find a lot on them. Where they good, if so, how come they sell for like $200 bucks on Ebay, while they were $1,000 or more new? Where they just hard to get a hold of, so not a lot of people had them?
And for reference, I have a pile of the old school Rockford gear, Audiohile Subs, Fanatic Q Components, DSM amps like the Punch 60, Punch 150HD, 400X4, etc. So I just wanted to know how they stack up. I can get both the amps, in boxes, for $400 total. Thanks!
They are good little amps. I have one of the x2’s running midbasses in my car and its been great. The only problem I ever have is sometimes the display changes to some moon language and you can’t change anything till you restart the amp. But thats a common problem with them (and the reason they eventually stopped putting displays on them at all).
The reason they are so cheap now is because they are all several years old and they didn’t really sell well because it was hard to justify the price difference between them and the power series amps (besides the type-rf amps looking so much better)..
