Which Worm Hook do you prefear?
1. Offset Extra Wide Gap (EWG)
2. G-Lock Worm
3. Offset Worm Hook
4. Straight shank Worm Hook Round Bend (no offset)
This is in reference to using “PLASTIC” worms and not night crawlers.
I exclusively use EWG hooks and never any bigger than a 5/0, even with 10 or 12″ worms
I have never experienced my worms twisting, maybe because the EWG acts like a keel and keeps it from spinning.
I think they all have there own specific applications. I like the wide gaps for most thick bodied plastics and the offset hooks for thin bodied worms. I like G-locks for tubes and straight shanks for finessing or drop shot. They all have a job to do, pick one for the right job and get more solid hook sets.
