Okay you tell me what better sport there is in the world other than fishing. It’s a great sport that you can involve the entire family in. Mix that with being in nature, the excitement of a catch and putting some food on the table, why shouldn’t it be something almost everyone wants to do. However if you have never fished then fishing for newbie’s can be quite frustrating. I hope to make that just a bit easier in this article.
When it comes to fishing for newbie’s there is a definite must that has to be done. You must check with your local fish and game authorities to make sure you are clear on the regulations. Most places it is a given that you will need a fishing permit but you also need to know such things as size limits, maximums and minimums. You need to know what fish are allowed to be kept. The best place to find a good starting point is at your local fishing store. They are usually very good at sending you in the right direction to find all that you need.
Of course fishing for newbie’s also requires equipment. At first of course it’s okay to equip yourself with the basics. Make sure you tell the people at the fishing store that you are a newbie. If they are honest and do things properly they will help equip you with very inexpensive equipment because they know that as you find out how much you love the sport you will be back to upgrade your equipment with more costly gear.
Now you’re thinking where the heck do I get started? It’s pretty simple. You might be embarrassed at your lack of know how when it comes to fishing. Well for the most part don’t be. Most fisher people are great people and always willing to help. Never the less it’s okay to find a nice quiet part of the shore line and I guarantee you within an hour you will almost be casting like an expert.
Now you are going to want to find a place where the fish are biting. Well I said earlier that fisher people are very friendly. Well I still concur with that except telling the truth of whether the fish are biting or not. Most people could have caught 100 fish before you got there and tell you it has been a slow day. Don’t worry you will eventually do the same thing. It’s fully anticipated and expected in the fishing world.
I guess what I would do is sit back and observe. See if the people around you are catching. By all means don’t horde in on them but definitely keep the places in mind for the next time you come out. One way I always found great holes and still do is by trial and error. You may be very surprised at all the wonderful places you can find great fishing just by throwing a hook.
So when it comes to fishing for newbie’s all you really need to remember is that a bad day of fishing is always better than a good day at work. You won’t go out every day and catch limits and clunkers but you have to always look past that and see how enjoyable the sport is.
Remember a bad day off fishing is better than a good day at work.
