Purpose Bait
What purpose does ritual male-bashing serve?
Other than, of course, possibly alienating men who might otherwise be allies in the fight for female rights? And giving male sexists a feeling of “justification”?
Is it akin to “whitey” bashing by oppressed ethnic minorities in Western countries? Or “breeder” baiting by gays and lesbians?
Is the momentary pleasure of insulting some poor schmo because he’s male worth knowing that you may have impeded the fight for equality?

I don’t know. I think any kind of bashing is an attempt to belittle another group.
