Quart White
white hot chocolate and some substitutions?? help please?
I am wanting to make a white hot chocolate and these are the Ingredients:
* 1 cup white chocolate chips
* 1 cup heavy cream
* 4 cups half-and-half
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* Vanilla whipped topping, for garnish
* Mint leaf, for garnish
I don’t have any heavy cream and i want to use milk instead and I only have one quart of half & half so I will use milk also will this work?? please and thank you also the directions are below just in case :
Directions
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine white chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir continuously until white chocolate chips have completely melted. Stir in the half-and-half, and vanilla extract. Stir occasionally until heated through. Pour into mugs and top with a dollop of vanilla whipped topping and garnish with mint leaf.

also where i live i cant drive to the store because it is snowing tremendously and I can only use what i have.
This would work perfectly fine. The only thing you need to watch for is scorching the milk, since it is thinner, it would burn more easily. Just start at a low temp and gradually bring the temp up then add the chocolate.
Your chocolate milk will only have a lighter flavor, but there is a good chance that it will let the flavor of the subtle white chocolate stand out more (which could be a good thing).
