Rapala Wobbler
Herrick Lake Questions!?
i am going fishing there in a week, so i need some info. i have fished there before, and i know there are bass there. here is a map: http://www.dupageforest.com/maps/herrick.pdf at herrick lake, to the left, there is a smaller lake. in there are some pretty big bass, i seen em. i need to know how to catch em. i have some rapala wobblers. i have 50 lb test line, from fishing in rhode island. never changed it. i just need to know how the catch bass in both of the lakes. If you could tell me where different species of fish like to hang out in those lakes, that would be fantastic.
i do realise that 50 lbs is way too much for bass, but i am too lazy to switch it to a different line, nor do i have the time to.
I don’t know anything about the lake but 50 lb test is a little much for Bass don’t ya think?
The way I would fish the lake if I have never fished it before. Is I would start out throwing a medium or deep diving crank and find the fish first. If that doesn’t work I’ll go to something slower, plastic worm for instance.
It all really depends on the lake/pond your fishing though. How deep is it around the edges? Is it clear or murky? Hows the weather there (specific, hot/cold couldy/sunny) Does it get fished alot or very little? Where’s the creeks/channels, etc… that run thru or into it? What about the cover, (meaning) any grass, trees, logs, etc… laying on the bottom or around the edges? List goes on.
Add some extra detail with these answers and anymore that you might think is useful and then I’ll try to narrow the lures down to what you might catch a trophy on.
