!!SOS!! 1997 Dodge Caravan STEERING CIRCUITRY FAULT – Horn doesn’t work , Air Bag light stuck ON?
I need to take a DMV driving test on Tuesday Morning, and that’s not gonna happen without the horns. I just found out yesterday from the guy who owns the van. One mechanic told me that the Steering Circuit (Wheel/Reel or sthing) was messed up-thus causing the horn and air bag circuits to malfunction due to common circuitry. Can anyone give me a detailed work around that will get the horn working with minimal effort and at minimal cost???
I am not very knowledgeable in cars so if you could also offer detail on how to remove any parts that need to be removed; or names of items that have to be installed. Thanks.

Thanks. Is there a way to by pass the “clockspring” and have the horn circuit running minus this particular hop? The mechanic was talking about replacing something(perhaps that spring or who knows what) that would cost $475…damn I am broke!!!!!
NO there isnt any way to bypass the clockspring….BUT you are in luck because there is a lifetime recall for clocksprings on those vans… take it to the dealer and they will fix it in about an hour for ya free of charge ..
