Anyone have any tips for biking with a fishing rod and back with a fish?
Also does anyone know a way i can mount my pole to my bike? thanks!
I am very experienced in this particular field. I used to ride a bike to fish when I was a kid. I still ride a bike (motorcycle to be exact) to fish from time to time now. I don’t recommend mounting your fishing rod to your bike at all. Instead, carrying fishing rods across your back like a rifle will be a much better option. It will be safer for yourself, your rods and other people. It is more convenient. It also looked better in my opinion. You can carry fishing rods across your back by using one of the following:
1) Rifle slings/straps that don’t require any studs/swivels. Those slings got adjustable loops on both ends (one for the barrel and one for the stock). They are a little hard to find but you will see them from time to time.
2) Carrying straps for tripods with adjustable loops on both ends.
3) Telescopic tubes for drawings and blueprints. Those tubes usually come with carrying straps. If it doesn’t you could still carry it across your back with an adjustable carrying strap for mats used in camping or fitness.
Out of the three, rifle sling felt most comfortable on my shoulders.
PS: I don’t recommend carrying ANY one piece rods regardless of the method.
