Runt Fishing
Does my tank have a weird or bad combination of fish?
I got a 75 gallon with strong filtration for 3 times the tank. The fish all get along great, no nipping, no bullying, all been together fine for a year. They are doing great but i was wondering if i have an odd mix.
2 comet goldfish (babys at 3.5 inches in body)
4 white cloud mountain minnows
5 golden barbs
1 sucking loach
2 hong kong pleco
1 weather loach
1 male paradise fish (hes a runt, very very docile and lacks colour, yes he is a boy hes got a forked tail)
Yes i did have 10 minnows and 3 loaches but im letting them run their course as i want to move on to reptiles plus i do not want anymore fish. I am aware but thanks for saying. Yes i have plenty of driftwood and an air pump in the tank.
I could never rehome my fish i love them ^^ Im willing to wait till they die for my snake =) They are too happy to disturb ^^
Not an impossible mix for that size tank. Long term the goldfish and “sucking loach” will get big and become trouble makers (like eat the White Clouds).
I hope you aren’t in a hurry to get your reptiles, as many of those fish can live for way over 10 years. You will be waiting long time for them to die of old age.
If you don’t want fish any more it may be better to find a store that will trade them in your new lizard or whatever?
