Senkos For Trout tips?
I have been fishing for trout with 3 inch senkos and having mixed results. I am rigging them weightless with a size 4 Gamakatsu extra wide gap hook. The trout love the baits but I am only hooking 30 percent and losing another 20 percent. So end result I am only landing about 10 percent of them. I need to remain extremely weedless, but get a better catch ratio, any advice?
Trebles won’t work nor will changing hook size. I think I need a different hook style. I have tried 2 inch senkos but you catch fewer fish with a smaller average size.
I hope you know there are 2 inch senkos out there. They are not that easy to find now but they are still available. Their size will be a a lot more “trout friendly”.
PS: A 2 inch senko is not the same as a shortened 3 inch senko. 3 inch senkos are a lot fatter.
