Fall Steelhead fishing On St Joe River?
Has anyone had good luck fishing for steelhead in the St. Joe river in the fall? I know spring is good, but never fished for them in the fall. What is your favorite bait to use? I like hot-an-tots myself. Thanks
Around Erie PA the fall run is just starting.
Good baits are:
Single eggs on a #14 circle hook
Skein or egg sacks with a #14 gold trebble hook.
Minnows -live or dead on a #10 red circle hook.
Little Cleos -small blue/silver
Black Mini Foo with a maggot
Power Bait -Pink, Lime, Orange or Rainbow Sherbert on a #14 trebble hook
All with at least a 18″ florocarbon leader
