ranger boats, where is the best place to mount my depth finder transducer on a 185tf nitro bass boat?
for an inside hull mount.
I just mounted one on my boat…….go by the instructions on the transducer explicitly. Get the level , depth , and transducer angle perfect. If you are transferring a transducer from another boat to your new on you can get online and download the instructions for your current transducer. One thing for sure, don’t pick a mounting spot on the back of the transom that is near the prop or near steps on the boat bottom. The cavitation and turbulence from these areas will degrade your signal during any speed except idle. If you have the choice do not get the type of transducer that is epoxied to the inside of your hull. This type of transducer will give you degraded returns on your screen. Good Luck and tight lines.
