catching fish near the shore?
i was fishing next to a dam. the water is really shallow and there were these fish just chilling there. i tried every bait and lure i had and they wouldnt bite. is there a certain way to catch these fish. i just got into the sport so i dont know the proper lexicon so explanations would be helpful. I dont know what kind of fish it was. it wasnt bass, trout or crappie. looked about 4-5 pounds.
i agree with golden spear, if they are carp try free lining floating bread crust or dog biscuit down to them. carp love that and are 100% guaranteed to get a fish or a bite at the least.
