Umbrella Rig
What should I be fishing for during this time of year in the Great South Bay in NY?
We’re out at our beach house in Fire Island and the ocean is just SOOO calm because the wind is coming out of the North at only like 5 mph. I wanted to go Umbrella Rigging in the ocean since it is so calm but before we came out we stopped at a fishing store and they said that there were no Striped Bass or Bluefish, only Flounder and some other fish that were not set up for and some regular dock fish in the Great South Bay. Anyway getting to the point I’m wondering if anybody has had any fishing action in the Great South Bay or up to 5 mi. out in the Atlantic ocean. If you know anything about any sort of good fishing in The Great South Bay or in the ocean please tell 
the guy in the tackle shop is lying. around gsb there are stripers moving to spawn in some of the creeks and the bay is full if bluefish. also there are stripers migrating north now along the coast
