What size hook for a 5″ senko?
What hook size is appropriate for a texas rigged 5″ yamamoto senko?
I usually go with a Gamakatsu 4/0 Offset shank, wide gap hook for 5″ senkos. You can also use a 3/0 for a slightly slower fall, or a 5/0 is you want a little faster of a fall.
Gamakatsu also makes a hook call simply an offset shank worm hook. I like these hooks for when the bass just won’t take a senko with a heavier wide gap hook. The offset shank worm hooks allow for a slower fall, which translates to the senko staying in the strike zone longer which translates to more bites throughout the day.
