Best bait for catching bream?
I’ve heard that a little ball of bread can catch bluegill, redear (shellcracker), redbreast, and spotted sunfish (stumpknocker). Is this true? I’ve heard cooked hot dogs or sausages will work. Also, which setup is a better choice to take on my next trip? I have a 6′6″ Zebco Rhino medium-action pole matched with a Rhino RSP30 spooled with Zebco Omniflex 15 lb. mono. The other is a 5′5″ Zebco Dura-Action medium-action rod paired with a Daiwa Regal-X 2500C spooled with the same mono.

The Rhino spool is aluminum and the Daiwa is graphite, if this info helps any.
I have an 18″ leader of 40 lb. Berkley Vanish flourocarbon on the Rhino rig.
15 lb test line sounds like some major overkill for sunfish..the 40 lb leader …man ..thats just off the hook!
If you spool up with some 8lb. test (still slight overkill but…) you will be able to cast your offering easier, longer. The 8 lb. test will also help to land any big bass, catfish, or carp that finds your bait attractive.
