how do you retrieve a popper when fishing for striped bass?
im using a yo zuri hydro popper and i dont know if i should pause after every pop or what please help

I generally start with the most quiet approach first so as to not spook away any that are close. Then you have to let the fish tell you what they want. Usually you cast a popper and let it set until you just about cant stand it. Then twitch once and wait again. Sometimes you need to really chug it along and make a racket, especially if there is a decent chop on the water. Other times, chug, chug, chug……….pause……………..is more the key.
